Sean Russell, PA, is a native of Raleigh, North Carolina. He completed his undergraduate degree at East Carolina University, double-majoring in Biochemistry and Chemistry, earning Magna Cum Laude recognition in the ECU Honors Program. Sean worked in breast cancer research at the Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, prior to enrolling in PA school at ECU. After graduation, Sean specialized in Orthopedic Trauma and Spine Surgery for 9 years. In the following 4 years, he worked in neurosurgery, specializing in functional neurosurgery, brain, and spine surgery. He has 7 years of experience in the use of Ultrasound for Orthopedic procedures. He joined OrthoNC in 2026.
