Rebecca Lawson, MPAS, PA-C

Rebecca Bordeaux Lawson, PA-C, is a dedicated and highly trained Physician Assistant with a strong background in clinical education, endocrinology research specifically thyroid disease, and patient-centered care. She earned her Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the Medical University of South Carolina and holds a Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering from Clemson University.

Rebecca has gained extensive hands-on experience across multiple medical disciplines, including internal medicine, trauma surgery, women’s health, emergency medicine, and psychiatry. She has trained alongside leading physicians in diverse clinical settings, refining her expertise in patient evaluation, procedural skills, and advanced diagnostics. With a passion for research and evidence-based practice, Rebecca has contributed to medical studies on aerobic exercise and Parkinson’s outcomes and has participated in innovative projects, such as clinical research and medical device development. Her devotion to advancing patient care is reflected in her commitment to lifelong learning and collaboration within the medical community.

At Magnolia Endocrinology, Rebecca’s lens is centered over providing comprehensive, patient-focused endocrinology care, ensuring that each patient receives personalized treatment tailored to their unique needs. Diabetes research is a keen interest for Rebecca along with the ongoing aim to improve the treatment, prevention, and quality of life for individuals with diabetes. She is highly skilled at prevention and early detection to include identifying genetic and environmental factors that contribute to diabetes risk and investigating immunotherapy to prevent type 1 diabetes. She enjoys exploring new insulin therapies and drug delivery systems, studying the role of bariatric surgery for weight management and diabetes control and will be investigating and exploratory trials on a personalized medicine-based approach curtailed to individual patient data.
