Nikki Hannon, PA-C joined the Swift Institute joint replacement team in 2024. While Nikki was raised in Portola, California, she has called Reno, Nevada, home for most of her life. She is a proud first-generation college graduate and credits her strong work ethic to her upbringing in a hardworking family.
She completed her undergraduate degree in Public Health and a Master of Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Nevada, Reno. While pursuing her Master's in Physician Assistant Studies, she did a clinical rotation with a joint replacement specialist. As she completed her degree, Nikki knew she wanted to work in the orthopedic specialty. She is particularly interested in hip, knee, and sports medicine, which she attributes to her active lifestyle.
Nikki's path to a Physician Assistant career specializing in orthopedics began when she was in high school and found herself sidelined with a sports injury. Multiple injuries—and successful outcomes—later, she had a strong appreciation for the orthopedic specialists who helped her get back to the sports she loved.
Nikki's training includes orthopedics, emergency medicine, physical therapy, pediatrics, women's health, and neurosurgery. This broad experience enhances her understanding of patient health and offers her a well-rounded skillset.
She appreciates the northern Nevada region's outdoor opportunities in her spare time and particularly enjoys mountain biking and hiking.
