She is originally from Florida but moved to Cary, NC when she was a teenager and returned to the Triangle upon becoming a PA. She began her career as a PA working in the emergency department in Sanford, NC where she learned how to become an efficient, high-quality and patient-centered clinician, but soon realized she did not have a passion for Emergency Medicine!
In 2011, Michelle joined Orthopaedic Specialists of North Carolina (OrthoNC) to pursue her dream of practicing Sports Medicine. While at OrthoNC, she has worked in multiple different specialties, including Orthopedic Urgent Care, Sports Medicine, Joint Reconstructive Surgery, General Orthopedic Surgery, Spine Surgery and Non-Operative Spine Clinic. She was promoted to APP manager in 2014 and then again promoted to Director of Clinical Services in 2016. In September 2019, she was named Director of Health and Wellness and entrusted with the task of creating and establishing the practice's first wellness program called "OrthoNC Health." In addition to overseeing the program, she recently completed training to become a health coach through UNC-Greensboro's Department of Public Education and is currently providing clinical health coaching services as well as seeing patients for pre-surgery wellness appointments and bone health (osteoporosis) screenings.
Michelle is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Physician Assistants in Orthopaedic Surgery. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and licensed with the North Carolina Medical Board.
When not at work, Michelle enjoys yoga and is currently training to become a yoga instructor. While her passion is traveling the world, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two wonderful boys most of all!
