Micah Lasley, PA, knew from an early age that he wanted to become a Physician Assistant and, specifically, that he wanted to work in pain medicine. His interest in understanding pain extends beyond its physical causes. He pursued a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Washington, developing a particular appreciation for the ways psychological, emotional, behavioral, and social factors can influence a person's experience of pain and recovery.
During his military service, he gained broad clinical experience in both military and hospital settings, including gastroenterology, invasive cardiology, and anesthesia. These early experiences helped shape his desire to pursue advanced clinical training and ultimately become a Physician Assistant.
He has since dedicated his career to physiatry and pain medicine, developing extensive experience in interventional and minimally invasive treatments, including ultrasound- and fluoroscopy-guided procedures.
Micah remains committed to continued learning and plans to pursue additional graduate-level education throughout his career. He believes that medicine is a lifelong pursuit of knowledge and that continued education ultimately allows him to provide better, more thoughtful care to his patients.
His approach combines evidence-based medicine, physical rehabilitation, behavioral and psychological considerations, and minimally invasive interventions when appropriate. Rather than focusing solely on treating symptoms, Micah strives to help patients understand their condition and develop a realistic path toward improved function, reduced pain, and a better quality of life.
Micah also has a strong interest in clinical education. Throughout his career, he has enjoyed teaching and mentoring other healthcare providers and has experience training Advanced Practice Providers in clinical assessment and interventional pain procedures. He particularly enjoys helping clinicians develop the technical skills and clinical reasoning necessary to provide safe and effective patient care.
Micah is board-certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) and is licensed as a Physician Assistant in Arizona, Washington, and Idaho. He is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates (AAPA) and the Arizona Academy of Physician Assistants (AZPA).
