I have been a patient at Ortho NC’s spinal clinic since at least 2023. My symptoms have progressively worsened, leading me to pursue more aggressive treatment in 2025. After undergoing two steroid spinal injections that provided only marginal relief, I experienced a severe episode involving significant pain and an inability to bear weight on my right leg. Because this episode occurred while I was out of town, I was forced to seek immediate treatment at a local urgent care facility.
I promptly contacted Ortho NC to schedule an appointment with Dr. Asysna, not the PA. Despite my clear request, I was rescheduled with the PA by the front desk. During that appointment—intended to discuss alternative non-surgical options such as MSL laser treatment or the use of an inversion table (as recommended by my physical therapist)—the PA informed me that my only remaining option was invasive surgery, including both a laminectomy and spinal fusion.
