Knowledgeable and efficient

Lauren was nice but my appointment didn’t seem very thorough, I explained everything and we jumped right into prescriptions which was fine for everything but my face. When describing my skin issues on my face she didn’t even take a close look at what I was referring to or examine my face at all, she actually sat in the chair across from me. I had to ask if she should look at my current skincare routine to make sure nothing to change, she said “sure if you’d like”. I thought maybe diet would be discussed but it wasn’t, also she didn’t advise me to wear SPF with my script which I was already aware of thankfully. Also didn’t go over the purging that will most likely be taking place, just scheduled a follow up.

Overall it was good

Very professional but needed to treat the open wound with different medicine.

She's a wonderful person and I can see she loves her job, the first visit was great I enjoyed her great work ethic and good spirit.

Good points: Offered helpful context on why a mole needed to be removed. Very attentive; pointed out and asked about some mostly-healed eczema I hadn't even brought up yet and hadn't been seen before for. Was thorough and careful during spot check. Weak points: I asked for wound care tips to reduce the risk of scarring and inflammation from occasionally picking acne. She defaulted to prevention (don't pick; it shouldn't scar if you don't pick) and framed scarring as a process outside the realm of control or mitigation. Dermatillomania is a very common comorbidity with OCD, ADHD, and ASD; it's not always an active decision, and it's not always possible to stop entirely. Please be ready to pivot from prevention to active strategies for harm reduction when requested. (Alcohol or hydrogen peroxide to sterilize? Antibacterial ointment or Vaseline? Band-aid or none? What kinds of products are safe to use on the wound when - SPF? unscented lotion? retinoids?)
