Her clinical experience includes cardiothoracic surgery, general surgery, emergency medicine, pediatrics, internal medicine, gastroenterology, obstetrics and gynecology, family medicine, and psychiatry.
Before joining CIS, she worked in Covington as a rehabilitation technician at St. Tammany Parish Hospital and as a behavioral health technician in senior behavioral health at Lakeview Regional Medical Center.
Gatewood is a board-certified physician assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants and holds additional certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Associates and the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants.
She has contributed to academic research and publications and demonstrated leadership through volunteer initiatives and student organizations. Her efforts have been recognized with honors such as the Emerging Student Leader award at LSU, reflecting her commitment to service, leadership, and advancing patient care.
