This is not meant as a personal attack on Joy Andrews specifically, because this has honestly become my experience with all medical providers. I’m exhausted by paying copays just to sit through appointments where I’m not examined, spoken to while the provider types into a laptop the entire time, and then sent home with little to no meaningful discussion/recommendations. I’ve even been criticized by providers in this facility for not attending recheck appointments, but from my perspective, it often feels like: what exactly am I paying for? Why am I spending $50 or more on a copay to essentially have notes typed into a chart, recommendations documented that were barely or never discussed with me, and minimal real interaction or evaluation? At the very least, many of these appointments could be handled through telemedicine and save everyone time and money. To be candid, I’ve been to DSSM many times and never been examined.

Joy was knowledgeable, and Pearson able. She answered my questions professionally and made recommendations to resolve my problems. I will be continuing my patronage of desert Spine and sports if I need additional assistance.

Joy identified and fixed a back issue that my surgeon couldn’t even take care of. She really knows her stuff and I would drive to Flagstaff or Tucson if I had to just for her to treat me! She also fixed my knee issue last year and I haven’t had a problem since. The orthopedic doctor I saw thought I should have surgery rather quickly. I love Joy.!!!!

Very disappointed about my visit. Basically was told that there was nothing else that could be done except a procedure that would cost half my annual income. Basically told that I just have to live in pain.
