John I. Shoaf, PA-C

John Shoaf, PA-C, is a nationally certified Physician Assistant who joined EmergeOrtho in 2026. He attended UNC-Charlotte, graduating with his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice in 1996. He then went on to earn his Master of Medical Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Wake Forest University / Bowman Gray School of Medicine in 2004.

He has worked in various medical and surgical practice settings over the course of his career. His current orthopedic practice encompasses general orthopedics, working directly with Dr. Dale Rader in the Statesville office and as Dr. Rader’s first assist in surgery. John was raised in Statesville and is excited to serve his home community as an orthopedic PA.

Cycling is his sport of choice. He dabbles in amateur radio as time allows. His faith and family are the staples of his life.
