Joel derives great satisfaction from offering both non-operative and operative care when appropriate. His special interests encompass sports medicine for all ages—from young athletes to professionals—athletic development, injury prevention, and the role of nutrition in enhancing recovery after surgery. Additionally, he emphasizes the importance of exercise in orthopedic health and longevity.
He has been fortunate to learn from and work alongside distinguished orthopedic surgeons trained at renowned institutions, including Johns Hopkins, the Hospital for Special Surgery, Southern California Orthopedic Institute, the University of Nebraska, the University of Florida, and New York University.
In his professional capacity, Joel contributes to the National Commission of Physician Assistants by participating in item writing and test development for Physician Assistant board certification. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his family, pursuing fitness activities, and coaching and playing sports with his kids.
