Jared McMillan, PA-C is an NCCPA-certified Physician Assistant who grew up in Cincinnati, Ohio. Medicine and the pursuit of knowledge have been Jared’s passions for as long as he can remember. When he was 17, he had the opportunity to travel to Honduras on a medical mission trip, where he was asked to translate Spanish. While there, his passion for medicine was cemented, and he learned the importance of applied skills, knowledge, and effective communication to facilitate quality healthcare. He received his Bachelor's in Science from Western Carolina University (WCU), majoring in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. While at WCU, he founded an undergraduate research committee on the Honors College Board of Directors, and was vice-president of both the Honors Board and the Pre-Health Professional clubs. After graduating from WCU, Jared pursued the research and development of advanced-alloy microwave metal smelting systems with a company his research group had collaborated with previously. After working in the microwave metal smelting field for 3 years, Jared decided to return to medicine and became an ER/EKG technician with Good Samaritan Hospital in downtown Cincinnati, where he regularly performed EKGs, splinting, and emergent care for patients in acute need. After almost 2 years as an ER tech, COVID hit and Jared became a frontliner. He worked as an ER technician until June of 2020 while considering PA schools. He decided to attend Marietta College in Ohio due to their faithful commitment to excellent patient care and instruction while in the midst of a pandemic. Jared began his career as a PA in North Carolina, performing contract veteran examinations for the VA. While he enjoyed serving those serving our country, the direct quality of life improvement and technological innovation frequently seen with orthopedic practice led him to orthopedics. OrthoNC’s commitment to high-quality, compassionate, and affordable care led Jared to apply. He is both elated and honored to be a part of this excellent practice, and looks forward to many years of service!
Made me feel comfortable
This was my 3rd visit to the office. Jared was able to diagnose my fracture in my left foot which was totally missed when I was seen at the ER a week earlier. Jared provided excellent care and increased my medication to assist with my level of pain. I'm extremely grateful for his care. He even provided an ankle brace so I could have extra support and protection.

Jarad instantly gave me the feeling I was talking with someone who cared and also really heard what I was saying. His knowledge, ability, and interest in hearing what you ask and explaining made asking him a question feel welcomed. A rare quality. Thank you !
