My appt was discouraging as I went into it with a list of questions as the diagnosis was new to me, and I was hoping to learn more about the condition before jumping straight to immunology which was described as a three or five year commitment. When asking questions, I was given very abrasive answers and directed to look at "medical literature" to find the answers. I'm sure she would be great if I went along with the options suggested, but I was really hoping for a conversation to help me better understand alternative ways to manage my situation such as clarification on the "trigger foods" that the kind ladies who did my allergy testing referred to, or to learn more about the times of year that my allergens were most prevalent. The latter was answered with "I do not have all of these memorized, nor do I know anyone who has." I was just hoping for a handout or resources or something... Unfortunately, my office visit left me with more questions than answers.

-Amy was rude. - She was not understanding. - When I stated that a treatment option wasn’t obtainable, she seemed annoyed and did a great job making me feel as though i was a bad parent for not doing the thing no matter how much it put our family out or made others in the household suffer. -She definitely came across as though her place of privilege was up on a high hill and we were all lesser than her. -She completely contradicted what I had been told by other doctors in the office at earlier appointments.

Amy was very nice, listened intently and made everything easy to understand. She showed honest concern.

This was my first visit with Amy. Amy seemed very professional and knowledgeable. I enjoyed my visit.

Detected a bit of ageism. Seemed to recommend against someone my age committing to 5 years of allergy shots. Had the feeling from her that my issues just weren’t significant enough to even bother with.

Listened to me and explained what would be the next step to proceed to.

I came in to talk about the procedure I’m having Friday. I was very nervous because I’ve had a lot of trauma with previous surgeries. She seemed like she was in a huge hurry move on to the next patient and after waiting 20 minutes after my time she only talked to me about 5 minutes. Definitely was not into taking the time to help me be reassured about the upcoming procedure. I won’t make an appointment with her again. Every patient needs different things and doctors need to be willing to take the time for those needs. We are paying for their services.

She was friendly enough but when it came to talking about getting my daughter’s tonsils out she basically left it in my hands. She said I can schedule the surgery if that’s what I wanted to do. She didn’t really give me any options or any information except put the major decision in my hands if I want my daughter’s tonsils removed or not. I felt frustrated because I didn’t get any recommendation from her whether or not I should go ahead with the procedure, she didn’t give me any kind of opinion on what she thought. I felt like the whole appointment was lacking any information on what the procedure would look like, what my options were, if this is something she would grow out of. She told me they will go ahead and take out the tonsils if I want them to. How do I know what I want when I feel like I have no clue what to expect?

I feel like she did not really take my situation or concerns seriously. My mom asked a question and the response she gave her was kind of sarcastic and overall I don't really trust what she said because I feel like she didn't really take the time to hear what I am experiencing.

Good decisions

Amy’s listening skills are very poor. Any spoken concerns of mine were not acknowledged, but simply overridden by what she seemed to have planned out ahead of time. It’s disturbing that her recommendations should be entirely opposite of those from an MD in the same practice.

The appointment felt rushed, and she didn’t listen to my concerns then sent me on my way without a resolution.

Amy was absolutely wonderful. She was easy to talk to and I was impressed with her way of speaking to me, being a person who has a significant hearing loss.

Always very professional & listens to my concerns. Cares about my well-being.
