Alex Pomar, PA-C, was born and raised in Gainesville, Florida. He enlisted in the Marine Corps after graduating from high school and served combat tours in Iraq and Afghanistan. Upon completing his military service in the Marines, Alex worked as a contractor overseas, where he discovered his passion for medicine.
This led him to re-enlist in the Florida National Guard as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant. Upon completing his training at Ft Bragg, Alex served four more tours to Africa, South America, Iraq, and Afghanistan. While deployed, he worked on and completed his Bachelor of Science in Clinical Health Science from George Washington University.
When he returned home in 2020, he decided to pursue a career as a physician associate, attending the University of Florida School of Physician Assistant Studies. He is passionate about orthopaedic surgery and excited to join the team at Orthopaedic Medical Group of Tampa Bay.
He recently moved to the Tampa area with his wife. Alex enjoys exercising, hunting, and spending time with his wife and family.
