Abigail Bennett, PA-C, is a certified and licensed Physician Assistant with an extensive background in Athletic Training and a specific interest in Sports Medicine and Concussions. She holds a Doctorate in Medical Sciences, DMSc, from Shenandoah University and obtained her Physician Assistant Studies degree from the University of North Carolina. Her diverse educational background includes an M.Ed. from Baylor University and an undergraduate degree from West Virginia University.

Abigail Bennett, DMSc, PA-C, grew up in the triangle before moving to West Virginia to attend WVU, where she majored in Athletic Training and minored in Sport and Exercise Psychology. She obtained a Master’s of Education in Sport Pedagogy at Baylor University before working as a High School Teacher and Athletic Trainer. She then shifted her career path and attended UNC, where she obtained a degree in Physician Assistant Studies. Prior to starting with OrthoNC, Abby worked in the Emergency Room and completed her Doctorate in Medical Sciences (DMSc) through Shenandoah University.
Abby is currently certified by the National Certifying Commission of Physician Assistants, the Board of Certification for Athletic Trainers, and is licensed in the State of North Carolina as a Physician Assistant and as an Athletic Trainer. She is a member of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, North Carolina Academy of Physician Assistants, National Athletic Trainers’ Association, Mid-Atlantic Athletic Trainers’ Association, and North Carolina Athletic Trainers’ Association. Her orthopedic interests include sports medicine and concussions.
Outside of work, Abby enjoys playing volleyball, playing board games with friends and family, and participating in team trivia.
