She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Sports Science Fitness Management with a Pre-Physical Therapy concentration from North Carolina A&T State University in December 2021.
Following her undergraduate studies, Shaqundra gained valuable experience as a physical therapy technician at Results Physiotherapy in Wakefield. She then pursued further education at Nash Community College in Rocky Mount, NC, graduating with an Associate of Applied Science in Physical Therapist Assistant in May 2024. During her time in the program, Shaqundra demonstrated her leadership and commitment to service as a program delegate for the NC chapter of the APTA SSIG and as a member of the Nash CC PTASO. She also volunteered with organizations such as Sleep in Heavenly Peace, delivering and building beds for children in the Rocky Mount community, and participated in the Tackle the Tar charity 5K.
Shaqundra is currently a proud member of the National Association of Black Physical Therapists (NABPT). Her favorite part of being a Physical Therapist Assistant is witnessing the healing journey of her patients—from their first day to their last—and making a meaningful difference in their lives and the community.
She is particularly passionate about advocating for her patients’ well-being and raising awareness of the benefits of physical therapy in underserved communities. She is especially dedicated to educating others about conditions that physical therapy can effectively address, including pelvic health issues such as postpartum recovery, urinary incontinence, and bowel incontinence.
Shaqundra lives in Henderson with her two beloved dogs, Diamond and Braxton. In her free time, she enjoys spending quality time with family and friends and channeling her creativity by making custom shirts with her Cricut machine.
