Before Ray finished his post-graduate studies, he worked in a sports medicine physical therapy clinics and later a physical therapy clinic that focused on post-op spinal rehabilitation. Ray is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist from the NSCA. During his graduate studies, Ray worked as a personal trainer training a wide variety of clients ranging from young athletes to older adults. Using his background in rehab and his knowledge in strength and conditioning, he worked with his clients to systematically structure individualized programs to safely reach their personal goals and improve their health and fitness.
Ray believes by taking control of your body you gain the ability to shape and enhance your quality of life. But without adequate understanding of the human body and movement we create muscular imbalances which ultimately lead to a halt in progress. Physical therapy is more than just rehab and can enable an individual to not only overcome pain but improve their body awareness, test their limits, and exceed their personal goals. For this reason, Ray constantly pursues improving his knowledge of the human body and understanding of exercise science to constantly improve himself as a physical therapist to provide his patients’ high quality care.
Ray has always been involved in sports and fitness his whole life. In high school he competed in football, basketball, and track and field. During college, Ray practiced mixed martial arts focusing primarily on boxing, muay thai and jui jitsu. Ray contributes a lot of his understanding of human anatomy, biomechanics, and various movement patterns to all the different sports he competed in.
