During this time, she volunteered for the Senior Athlete Fitness Exam to collect data at the NSGA State Senior Games, was a lab assistant for a neuro continuing education course for PTs, OTs, PTAs and OTAs, and presented a research poster at the American Physical Therapy Association NC Annual Conference. Her last clinical affiliation consisted of working with athletes of all levels, from recreational to professional, to get them back to sport from knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries.
During her free time she enjoys exploring new areas with her husband and dog, as well as trying to convince her husband that she still has a touch of athleticism in her bones when they hit the pickleball courts.
Melissa is kind and compassionate. Her expertise as a physical therapist is outstanding. If one exercise is too difficult or causes other issues she is quick to adjust or change it. She knows what has to be done. She also considers the whole person and shows real concern. She has been a great blessing in my recovery.
Melissa has been an amazing person to have in my corner from pre-op strength and conditioning to post-op recovery. She brings the best energy to every visit, and truly gets me excited to continue my recovery journey. I am miles ahead of where I thought I would be at this point, and I give all of the credit to Melissa for helping me get to where I am today. Her knowledge, skill, and perfectionism all contribute to my individual success, and she truly makes me feel as if my recovery is nothing short of a team effort. Melissa makes PT fun and exciting, and always pushes me further each and every visit. I’m so thankful for the PT-patient relationship we have formed, and am looking forward to continuing my sessions with Melissa.
