She returned to her native state of New York to go to school to become a Physical Therapist Assistant, then moved to NC and worked at OrthoNC for over 4 years working predominantly with individuals with shoulder injuries. In 2021, Melissa returned to school at Campbell University to earn her doctorate in Physical Therapy.
During this time, she volunteered for the Senior Athlete Fitness Exam to collect data at the NSGA State Senior Games, was a lab assistant for a neuro continuing education course for PTs, OTs, PTAs and OTAs, and presented a research poster at the American Physical Therapy Association NC Annual Conference. Her last clinical affiliation consisted of working with athletes of all levels, from recreational to professional, to get them back to sport from knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries.
During her free time she enjoys exploring new areas with her husband and dog, as well as trying to convince her husband that she still has a touch of athleticism in her bones when they hit the pickleball courts.

Melissa is fantastic. She’s very thorough, explains everything that she’s doing, she’s extremely knowledgeable and clearly loves her job! I didn’t expect PT to be enjoyable but Melissa manages to do that. I’m already seeing big gains in my range of motion. I thank her and so does my shoulder! Highly recommend her.
