Javier is a professional and caring therapist. He takes the time to listen and address the concerns. I definitely recommend him to anyone who needs PT
Javier Arteaga was born in Caracas, Venezuela and relocated to New York City in 1997. He received his bachelors in Exercise and Sport Science from UNC Chapel Hill in 2009 before returning to New York City where he worked as a personal trainer and group fitness instructor teaching TRX and indoor cycling classes. In 2016, Javier furthered his education by pursuing a doctorate degree in physical therapy from Mercy College in New York.
Javier’s clinical experience includes work with semi-professional soccer teams, outpatient orthopedic clinics as well as inpatient rehabilitation programs. He enjoys training for endurance events and has completed races such as the NYC marathon and 2 Ironman distance triathlons. Javier hopes to combine his nine years of experience in the fitness industry with evidence-based interventions learned in PT school in order to help his patients achieve optimal functioning in their daily lives. He joins the OrthoNC team after coming back to the Tar Heel state with his wife, 16-month old son and 5-year old hound mix dog.
