Alma Santos, PT, DPT, is a board-certified Neurologic Clinical Specialist in Physical Therapy, distinguished by her extensive expertise in neurological and vestibular rehabilitation. Raised in Hondo, Texas, she developed an early appreciation for community-centered care that continues to shape her patient-focused philosophy today. Dr. Santos earned her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, Texas, where she built a strong foundation in human movement science and evidence-based practice. She went on to receive her Doctor of Physical Therapy from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas.
Committed to advanced clinical excellence, Dr. Santos completed her Neurologic Physical Therapy Clinical Residency at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex, where she refined her skills in managing complex neurological conditions. Her clinical proficiency includes comprehensive evaluation and treatment of vestibular dysfunction, balance disorders, post-stroke impairments, neurodegenerative conditions, and movement disorders. She is recognized in the state for her teaching and mentoring skills, winning the Dorn Long Outstanding Clinical Educator Award in 2024.
Before joining Gonzaba Medical Group in 2026, Dr. Santos served as Clinical Director of OneRehab, a neurological outpatient practice she successfully launched and led across Dallas, Texas and Richardson, Texas. In this leadership role, she oversaw program development, mentored clinicians, implemented evidence-based protocols, and cultivated a culture centered on clinical excellence and compassionate care. She continued to hone her neurologic skills in outpatient neuro facilities in Dallas and San Antonio as well as began teaching at the University of the Incarnate Word’s DPT program. Moreover, she contributed to the Neurologic Physical Therapy team at the renowned Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, further strengthening her expertise within an interdisciplinary, high-acuity medical environment.
Dr. Santos is deeply passionate about empowering individuals to regain balance, strength, stability, and confidence in their daily lives. She is known not only for her technical mastery in vestibular and neurological rehabilitation, but also for her empathetic communication style, collaborative approach to care, and dedication to long-term patient success.
