Very nice and gentle with my daughter. It was her first visit to an eye doctor and she was very comfortable. (She’s autistic and has adhd and doesn’t usually do well in new surroundings) she did amazing and the optometrist was part of it.

Dr. Veronica Fowler is a Doctor of Optometry. She began her career by enlisting in the U.S Navy as a Operations Specialist. During her service, she was stationed at Roosevelt Roads Naval Base and later served on the USS Shenandoah, home-ported in Norfolk, VA. While aboard the USS Shenandoah, she started her studies at Old Dominion University (ODU).
After graduating from ODU, Dr. Fowler earned her Doctorate in Optometry from the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts. Following graduation, she was commissioned as a Lieutenant in the Navy and completed her military career as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserves. She acquired extensive knowledge in primary care optometry and leadership throughtout her military service.
After her military career, Dr. Fowler gained a wide range of experience, which includes specialty contact lens fitting, pediatrics, ocular disease management, and pre- and post-operative care for cataracts and LASIK. She is a passionate educator dedicated to continuing education. Dr. Fowler is a Dellow of the American Academy of Optometry, has established successful optometry externship programs, and has earned an MBA in healthcare management.
Dr. Fowler performs comprehensive eye examinations and prescribes glasses and soft and specialty contact lenses. She also diagnoses and treats eye disease such as dry eyes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetes. With over 20 years of experience, she bring significant expertise to our North Main Street location and is currently accepting new patients.
Dr. Fowler lives with her husband and daughter in Newport News, VA. In her spare time, she is an avid reader, learning to play the bass guitar and enjoying spending time outdoors with her family.
