Thien-Thu Nguyen, O.D.

Dr. Thien-Thu Nguyen, O.D., attended and graduated in 2001 with her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology at the University of California, San Diego, and received her doctorate degree in optometry from the Inter-American University of Puerto Rico in 2005 through a bilingual English/Spanish program. During the last year of optometry school, Dr. Nguyen returned to Southern California for her clinical externship at the De La Peña Eye Clinic in the spring of 2005, where she gained extensive experience in the treatment and management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, cataract, dry eye, and diabetic retinopathy.

After graduation in 2005, Dr. Nguyen continued practicing in Southern California, where she has built extensive experience in primary and medical optometry. She is now part of the team at Azul Vision, where she provides comprehensive eye care to patients.

Dr. Nguyen is licensed to practice optometry at the highest level, including the use of diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, performing lacrimal dilation and irrigation, and treating eye infections, eye injuries, dry eye, and glaucoma. In addition to primary eye care services, she provides contact lens fitting, including soft contact lenses, rigid gas permeable lenses, scleral lenses, and overnight orthokeratology. Dr. Nguyen also provides management for post-operative cataract patients and LASIK.

Dr. Nguyen and her husband have been blessed with three children. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, cooking, reading, floral arrangements, playing the piano, and tennis.
