Dr. Claudia Montana-Collins, O.D. has a long career and experience in primary eye care including private practice, university settings and contact lenses industry.
Graduated from University of La Salle in Colombia in 1987 as an Optometrist and after working in a private practice and hospital, Dr. Collins continued her education in the US and obtained a Master of Science in Clinical Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1995.
Dr. Collins was working for the Center for International Studies at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry developing programs for international eye care practitioners while earning her Optometry degree from an accredited US college of Optometry.
While working with the contact lens industry with Wesley Jessen and doing research in prosthetic contact lenses, Dr. Collins became a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry in 1999.
In 2002 Dr. Collins received her Optometry degree as well as a Low Vision Internship diploma for Clinical Excellence from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.
Dr. Collins has been working in optometry and ophthalmology setting for more than 20 years and has a long experience in refraction, contact lenses, diagnosis and management of ocular disease, co-management of refractive laser correction and cataract surgery.
Dr. Collins believes in providing the ideal eye health care working as a team with Ophthalmologists and Opticians, listening to her patients and dedicating the time needed to help to solve their visual needs as well as given her patients the best eye health care.
