Dr. Ashley Ford, O.D. is a Grand Junction native and attended the University of Colorado where she received an academic scholarship and an athletic scholarship to play women’s golf. While at the University of Colorado, she was named an Academic All American and received the Byron C. White award for academic excellence. She spent the next four years earning her Doctorate of Optometry at Pacific University in Oregon graduating with honors. While in optometry school she received the Who’s Who award.
After receiving her Doctorate of Optometry she completed an additional one-year residency at the VA hospital in Santa Barbara, California with an emphasis on diabetic eye disease and glaucoma evaluation and treatment. Upon returning to Grand Junction in 2006, Dr. Ford was instrumental in establishing the optometry clinic at Marillac. She opened her private practice in 2007.
Dr. Ford has been a member of a number of community organizations including Junior Service League, coaching for Girls On The Run, and tutoring at Riverside Educational Center, as well as the Mesa County Library’s Adult Literacy program. She has also participated in several trips with Vision Health International, a non-profit organization that provides eye care to individuals across the globe.
In her free time Dr. Ford enjoys hiking, playing tennis, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
