Dr. Cortes is originally from Puerto Rico but was raised in a small town called Keene, Texas. He was homeschooled from kindergarten through 12th grade and completed his undergraduate studies at Southwestern Adventist University, where he graduated in 2016 with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science with an emphasis in Kinesiology.

Following graduation, Dr. Cortes attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, where he earned his degree as an Optometric Physician. Today, he is passionate about helping patients preserve and improve their vision while providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
Dr. Cortes has a strong interest in comprehensive eye care, ocular disease management, and patient education. He values building trust with patients and helping them understand their eyes and treatment options.
Outside of the clinic, Dr. Cortes enjoys spending time with his family, staying physically active, traveling, and serving through his Christian music ministry, Contagious Faith.
