Dr. Patel has treated a variety of patients and needs throughout his career. During optometry school, Dr. Patel provided eye care for veterans at the Veterans’ Affairs hospital in Peoria, IL. He also served military personnel at Tyndall Airforce Base in Panama City, FL, while completing his degree. Since moving to Texas during graduate school, he has provided eye care services for the underprivileged in San Antonio.
Born in Chicago, Ajay fell in love with optometry after shadowing several eye doctors and realizing he could take care of a patient’s whole health through the eyes. He relocated to Texas during optometry school and considers himself a “Texan at heart.” When he’s not taking care of his patients, Dr. Patel is an avid bowler, and he also enjoys traveling and spending time with his two (very spoiled) dogs.
