In addition to serving his patients at Rottman Eye Care, Dr. Rottman is also very involved with the non-profit Vision Health International (VHI). Dr. Rottman has been involved with the organization for 33 years, including 32 years of service as a board member, 6 years serving as Board President, and currently serving as VHI’s Medical Director. VHI’s mission is to bring high-quality eye care to underserved communities around the world, a mission Dr. Rottman believes strongly in. Dr. Rottman is also involved in Grand Junction non-profit Eureka Math and Science Center.
Dr. Rottman is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and has 37 years of experience in the field of ophthalmology.
Dr. Rottman has 4 children and 2 grandchildren who keep him busy! When he’s not working, he enjoys working in his yard, playing pickleball, and entomology.

I always get very thorough exams and they treat with kindness and professionalism. The new $60 dollar fee for an eye glass prescription is disappointing. Dr. Rottman is an excellent doctor.
After a two hour wait the technician got to me. It was another half an hour before I saw the Dr. No one said "sorry" or why there was such a delay. This was my first visit to Rottman Eye Care. Should I give them another chance?
Even with the office being extremely busy and the longest part being the wait, Dr. Rottman still was very efficient with the eye exam for my daughter and took the time to explain what he was looking for.
Very professional
I recently had an appointment with Dr. Rottman and left disappointed. While training a new ophthalmologist, he seemed more focused on casual conversations in the hallway than on how long I had been waiting. During the examination, his communication came across as arrogant and more focused on demonstrating his medical knowledge than ensuring I understood my condition. What disappointed me most was his delivery of difficult medical information, with little compassion or effort to ensure I understood. I recognize that not every condition can be corrected, but how that information is communicated matters. Medical knowledge is important, but so are patience, respect, and genuine concern for the patient. Unfortunately, those qualities were missing from my experience.
