Dr Kirk is a no waste time Doctor that explains everything in his perspective that has helped me understand so much clarity on my eyesight. I am trilled he is my eye Doctor.

I just had my first visit with Dr Kirk. I had previously seen my current eye Doctor in May and she said couldn’t schedule me for the simple YAG LASIK until August. She also told me I needed both eyes done. My first visit with Dr Kirk he told me I only needed procedure done in one eye and completed the procedure the very same appointment. I am so happy with the results and his honesty that I only needed one eye done. I will definitely recommend Dr Kirk and he is now my new eye Dr.

Matthew R. Kirk, M.D. is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist who specializes in comprehensive ophthalmology, glaucoma, and cataract surgery. Serving the community of La Jolla since 2007, Dr. Kirk is focused on providing the best quality of care for each patient he works with.
Dr. Kirk’s training includes Boston University School of Medicine, where he was selected to the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Medical Society. He did his internship at the Naval Hospital, San Diego and served as a flight surgeon with the 3rd Marine Air Wing at Camp Pendleton and abroad.
After his time in the military, Dr. Kirk went on to do his residency at the world-renowned Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia, where he was selected as a chief resident. He joined us at Eye Care of La Jolla in 2007.
In his personal time, Dr. Kirk enjoys a variety of outdoor activities with his family.
