I felt he was rushing the exam, I honestly felt like I was inconvenienceing him with my questions.

I am home, resting from my cornea transplant surgery this morning. I could not have asked for a better experience. The nursing staff at the Bloomington location and Dr. Hardten were all amazing. I am so very thankful for each of them and the care I received. I could definitely tell that for each of them, this is far more than a job - this is truly a vocation to which they feel called, truly caring for others. Again, I am thankfu and blessed.

The testing was fine, but the meeting with Dr. Hardten was unsatisfying and left me with more questions than I started with. Dr. Hardten had obviously just come out of surgery (hair net, booties), and he was talking 50 million miles an hour. He spent about 5 minutes with me, and every time I asked a question, he said his assistant was knowledgeable and could answer. When he walked out, his assistant said she would be back. After about 10 minutes, she returned and apologized because it took so long. She said she had to put a packet together. When I tried to ask her questions, she said the information in the packet could answer most of my questions and the scheduler could answer all the rest of my questions. What kind of appointment is that? I have had surgery with Dr. Hardten, and in the past, he has been fine. Yesterday, something was really off, and I felt dismissed. Not okay. I hadn't planned to get a second opinion, but I will now because I won't be dismissed in that way.
