Dr Merrill is a great Ophthalmologist. He explains everything and is easy to understand. Great doctor. His assistants also do a great job.

In my opinion, he is the best ophthalmologist on the central coast. He has a very professional team of employees and are detail oriented. I will have cataract surgery in the near future and feel confident all will go well. To top off my visit, his office employee gave me coupons for a discount on my over the counter medication.

My experience with Dr. Merrill was excellent but the waiting room was so crowded I did feel comfortable in that space. I waited in the hall. Also the beginning of the the auwas 45 mins late

I really like that he reviews my chart with me right there in the room. He dictates his comments for the visit into the computer for his review for my next visit. That way, I know what is going on with my eyes condition.

I travel 16 hours for a Dr visit at pacific eye

He took the time to read my chart thoroughly and explain what is happening to my eyes and how we would improve them. And he listened to me. I would highly recommend Dr. Merrill.

Does not clearly and completely tell patient what is going on. Failed to mention taking Arids for dry macular degeneration. Does not listen well.

Love Dr Merrill - very professional and knowledgeable. But front office management is not acceptable and after several years I may be going elsewhere. Wait times much too long (every time) due to over scheduling.Office forgetting to schedule needing testing BEFORE doctor visit. Staff losing info that was previously on file (VSP insurance and list of medications).

Of course he’s busy, but I would like to see him instead of feeling he’s too harried to talk, teach and give information. I learned from him for example, when I question him about his late arrivals, that he is waiting for the dialation fluid to do its work before looks at my eyes. I would have appreciated being reminded about this necessary delay from the outset.

The medical assistant was also VERY excellent. I feel/think that I am very competent hands when I go there for my annual visits.

Assistant spent 10 minutes with me, I was then left alone for 32 minutes, Dr. Merrill then came in for 9 minutes. Not a ‘I’m sorry for the delay’ or even an acknowledgment of the delay.
