Clement K. Chan, M.D., FACS

Dr. Clement K. Chan, M.D., FACS is a fellowship-trained retina specialist who has proudly served patients in the Coachella Valley since 1989. Dr. Chan has a long-standing reputation for being a leader in the medical and surgical treatment of retina-related disorders and conditions, such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, vein occlusion, macular edema, and more! Dr. Chan serves patients in the Palm Springs, Palm Desert, and Riverside offices.

Dr. Chan obtained his medical degree and ophthalmological training at Loma Linda University, with fellowship training at Washington University in St. Louis, MO. He founded the Desert Retina Consultants (SCDRC) and is the medical director of Inland Retina Consultants (IRC). Today, Dr. Chan is an associate clinical professor at Loma Linda University and is a member of the Retina Society, Macula Society, and Club Jules Gonin — national and international retina honor societies.

Dr. Chan is a passionate and accomplished researcher; he is dedicated to advancing the field of ophthalmology through involvement in clinical trials which focus on finding better treatments for our patients with sight-threatening eye diseases. Dr. Chan and his team of coordinators have been actively involved in research studies since 1995 and are proud to increase the overall standard of vision care for patients through new technologies and therapies. Additionally, Dr. Chan is extremely passionate about teaching through hands-on examples, lectures, and writing in specialty journals. Books are his passion.
