Dr. Decanini is an award-winning doctor, recognized with the Harry Plotke Award for her clinical skills, compassion, and patient-centric approach. She proudly won the Best Teaching Faculty Award and has earned a spot on Minnesota Monthly’s Top Doctors list for the last four consecutive years.
Dr. Decanini joins us from the Hennepin Healthcare Ophthalmology department here in Minnesota where she’s specialized in Pediatric care since 2015.
Dr. Decanini completed her internship and residency in ophthalmology at the University of Minnesota where she continued on to complete a Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at the Lions Children’s Clinic in Minneapolis.
Dr. Decanini is passionate about working with families to find treatment solutions that maximize vision and quality of life in even the youngest of patients. She speaks Spanish and is excited to be part of the Northwest Eye team.

She is so kind, funny and I really like the way she interacts with the children .
I consider Dr. Decanini outstanding. My surgery, although not perfect, went well consistent with her prognosis. While friendly, she was very professional, thorough and answered questions directly. I never felt rushed.
Dr.Decanini is amazing with kids! All the tests she did were in the form of a game, my son laughing not realizing his eye vision was checked! :) So glad to meet her!

Dr. Decanini is so wonderful and great with my 2 year old. She makes her feel comfortable and makes the doctor fun. She personally called multiple times after surgery to check in and is always reassuring. She is so great!
Dr. Decanini is highly skilled in both Ophthalmology and child psychology. She expertly guided our 3.5 YO through a challenging eye exam leaving our family with a very positive experience.
I love bringing out daughter to see Dr Decanini. She is very kind, professional and knowledgeable. She does a great job explaining things in an easy to understand way and answers any questions we have. She makes us feel confident that our daughter’s vision and eye care is in great hands. Highly recommend her.
She was so friendly and worked so well worh our 3 month old. She explained everything so well to us as well which helped to make sure we understood why she was doing what she was doing.
My son has been going to her since he was 4. She’s very friendly and compassionate. She has a way with kids!
