Prior to joining San Antonio Family Physicians, Yajaira worked as a registered nurse for Brooke Army Medical Center. Yajaira has over a decade of experience in emergency medicine, working for two different level one trauma centers and certified heart and stroke centers. She witnessed the struggle her patients endured while lacking primary care, which later inspired her to pursue a career as a family nurse practitioner.
To help her patients achieve their health goals, Yajaira will focus on their overall well-being through evidence-based practice, advocating health promotion, disease prevention and treatment. Yajaira will educate and teach her patients about their diseases and develop a health plan.
In her free time, Yajaira enjoys spending time with her husband Roger and their two children Camila and Matthew. They enjoy staying active as a family and volunteering at their local community events as well as traveling and spending quality time with their extended family and friends.
