Shelby Schwab, FNP-C, graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Human Nutrition and Dietetics from Colorado State University in 2000. She then decided that a career in Nursing was the next step and graduated from the accelerated program at Regis with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 2004. After spending 16 years as an RN in obstetrics at the University of Colorado Hospital and in the Maternal Fetal care unit at Children’s Hospital, Shelby enrolled in a Master of Nursing program to continue her education. She graduated with her MSN as a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2020. She has spent the last 3 years as an NP working in both primary care and functional medicine settings.
Preventative care and helping patients achieve their best health are Shelby’s passions. She enjoys partnering with patients to reach their health and wellness goals and feels that optimizing health and preventing disease is the best path to feeling good and enjoying life.
In her spare time, Shelby enjoys spending time with her husband and 3 “big” kids. She loves being outdoors hiking, camping, and exploring Colorado with her friends and family.

Shelby is a wonderful healthcare provider who is knowledgeable and listens. She thoroughly explains diagnosis’ and treatment options. After each appointment I have been super impressed and very happy to have her as a trusted provider. Highly recommend!!

I came in armed with approximately 47 browser tabs worth of WebMD research and a firm self-diagnosis. Shelby dismantled all of it in about 90 seconds. No sugarcoating, no "that's an interesting theory" either. Just calm, direct, here's what's actually happening conversation. What sets her apart is that the no-nonsense style doesn't come at the expense of thoroughness. She took the time to walk me through my treatment plan in real detail, explained why my internet rabbit hole had led me somewhere wrong, and actually made me feel better about the path forward. I left understanding what was going on with my own body, which, if you've spent any time in modern healthcare, you know is not a given.
Very comforting, helpful and sweet
I didn’t really see Shelby as they had a student that did the entire exam. Was a little disappointed that nothing was mentioned about my weight loss or that I was no longer on a medication for thyroid. Didn’t even question it. Like the chart wasn’t even looked at. I like Shelby a lot but felt I was just a number and not a person
Dr. Schwab is awesome. She always takes her time to explain what’s happening. She listens and she is always very responsive. I am super happy she is my doctor!
