Selin Nogueira-Zorer, MSN, PMHNP-BC, has always believed that a person is more than a diagnosis. In her practice, she begins with the understanding that individuals are the experts on their own lives. Her role is to offer clinical expertise, thoughtful advocacy, and steady support as they navigate challenges together.
Her clinical foundation was built at New York University, but her perspective on mental health was shaped on the front lines of care. During her years as a behavioral health nurse at Zucker Hillside Hospital, she worked closely with adolescents and perinatal patients facing some of life’s most complex and vulnerable moments.
That experience reinforced a core belief: while medication can be a powerful tool, meaningful healing happens when people feel seen, safe, and actively engaged in their own treatment.
She does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Her work is grounded in evidence-based medicine and guided by the individual's lived experience. She takes a holistic, collaborative approach to care—one that honors autonomy and emphasizes real-world strategies that help individuals feel capable, informed, and empowered. She is deeply committed to providing an affirming, nonjudgmental space for youth, adults, gender-diverse individuals, and families navigating significant life transitions.
Whether addressing trauma, managing symptoms, or adjusting to a new stage of life, her goal is to build a genuine therapeutic relationship that supports sustainable, long-term growth and change.
