Philip Gyura, DNP, FNP-BC, is a clinician dedicated to expanding access to compassionate, evidence-based care for individuals impacted by substance use and co-occurring conditions. He is a leader in the development and application of mobile health solutions focused on substance use treatment, HIV and Hepatitis C prevention, and harm reduction, and he brings both clinical expertise and lived experience as a person in long-term recovery.
Philip has extensive experience integrating specialty services within primary care settings, particularly in high-acuity and underserved communities. His work centers on patient-centered care models that reduce barriers, improve engagement, and ensure high-quality treatment for marginalized populations.
He earned his degrees from the University of Minnesota and Columbia University. Philip is especially passionate about meeting people where they are across all stages of recovery and helping create safe, welcoming spaces where individuals feel respected and supported in their journey.
Outside of work, Philip recently adopted five siblings from foster care through Hennepin County/CHLSS. This experience has deepened his understanding of how substance use, recovery, and harm reduction intersect with family systems and caregiving, further shaping his compassionate approach to care.
