Meet Nancy F. Melling, a seasoned Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) with an impressive background in healthcare. Graduating with a Master’s of Science in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing in 1998, Nancy has been a devoted FNP for over two decades.
Residing in New Bern with her husband, Nancy has been dedicated to serving the Jacksonville community through her work in the Emergency Department of Onslow Memorial Hospital. Over the years, she has developed a deep affection for the Jacksonville community and the families she cares for, particularly cherishing her pediatric patients, some of whom are the second generation under her watch.
Outside of her profession, Nancy has a flair for creativity and hobbies, including sewing for her grandchildren, indulging in cross-stitching, nurturing her garden, and volunteering. Her culinary skills are well-known, and she enjoys exploring the unbeaten paths of National Parks through her travels. With an ardent love for gardening, Nancy cultivated a flourishing vegetable garden, and now she joyfully shares its abundant harvest with patients, nourishing not just their bodies but also their spirits.
Currently, Nancy Melling attends to patients at JCMC Pediatrics in Jacksonville, where she continues to contribute her expertise and heartfelt care to the well-being of the community’s families.

She talked very intensly to my 17 year old son about suicide. Her exact words were "Do you want to die?". "I need to know this in order to get you help". Also "Have you thought about killing yourself and did you have a plan to kill yourself?" My son completely shut down.I think she needs to approach depression patient especially on kids with a little more compassion.
Ms. Melling is one of our favorite NP's at Jcmc. Caring, professional and thorough.
Very hard to communicate with, tends to downplay the parents concerns about child/children.
Goes above and beyond for patient care and very knowledgeable. I would definitely recommend her and will continue to take my child to jcmc

Nancy is great! 😊 she is very knowledgeable and she also likes to educate her patience. Her attitude is always positive and she is always very polite and friendly.
We love Nancy! She’s seen all of our kids and been wonderful with each one (and she’s patient with their grandma, lol), very thorough, knowledgeable and helpful.
I didn’t fell heard or like I got the answers I need or was looking for. I feel like will most likely have to make another appointment with someone else to get my child the care he needs. Will not be schedule to be seen with her again.
She is wonderful with my daughter! She is so professional and kind.
We kept explaining what was happening to our son and she would not listen and never has every time we have had her. Its basically her opinion first before even considering what we think
