Maria Farrar, MS APRN CPNP

Maria obtained her Master of Science degree at the University of California, San Francisco in San Francisco, California.

When Maria was a Nutrition and Lactation Educator at WIC, she found that her passion was helping families care for their children. She was inspired to get into healthcare by working with other providers, who were able to not only address the nutritional needs of children, but also assist parents with the complete health and development of their children.

Her passion is helping families by providing care for their children and her purpose/passion is fueled when her contribution leads to the betterment of children’s lives and strengthens the entire family.

Maria worked in pediatric clinics in the Central Valley for 17 years, both in a community health center and private practice. She feels it was in the community pediatric clinic settings that she made the most positive impact on the children she has treated and on the families she served.

All her career, she has been involved in the health and development of children her entire professional career, starting as a teacher and a Nutrition and Lactation Educator. Utilizing her nursing training, Maria also served as a Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse, a School Nurse, and is a Board Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner. She draws from all of these experiences when caring for her patients and understands the impact that she can have in the betterment of children’s lives – always putting the needs of her patients first.

The outcomes she likes to see are: happy, healthy, well-adjusted children, thriving in a nurturing environment. Her core message is to live a balanced and purposeful life.

Maria enjoys spending time with her husband and three adult children as well as hiking, kayaking, cooking, walking our family dogs, knitting, reading, and wine tasting.

Maria also speaks fluent Spanish.
