Besides the fact that we have opposite child rearing values, I felt disrespected and unheard. I would say “I’m doing this,” and she would just command me to change without much explanation, and disregarding if what I was doing had worked well. I told her something I was concerned about for my son, she briefly gave a non-helpful suggestion, and then forged ahead with all her questions without coming back to it. I didn’t care about all her questions, but I was very concerned about mine.
She told me to stop breastfeeding my 14 month old. And then implied I was a bad parent for not bringing him back in 3 weeks for his “15 month” checkup.
I honestly felt like she was going to report me for neglect just because we have different parenting styles, and maybe the reason I didn’t bring him in for his 12 month checkup until 1 was dread of meeting docs like her who stick their noses up at people. Never ever seeing her again, maybe leaving kidszcare.
