Kathryn (Katy) Rafferty, NP-BC, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Washington in 1994. She initially pursued training and education, working with disabled children and adults through the Easterseals Foundation in Alabama. Her experience and travels led her to Colorado, where she worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant while completing her Bachelor’s in Nursing degree from Regis University in 1998.
Her nursing background has been quite abundant, including general medicine, orthopedic and urologic surgery, medical intensive care, and cardiology through her time in the cardiac catheterization lab. She received her Master’s in Science degree from the University of Colorado in 2008 and has spent the last 14 years with the Division of Renal Diseases and Hypertension, educating and caring for patients with Chronic Kidney Disease, Renal Transplantation, and End Stage Renal Disease requiring dialysis.
Kathryn has an extensive knowledge base in physiology and pharmacology. Her broad range of experience, along with her compassion and commitment to providing education and a listening ear, enables her to instill in her patients a better understanding of their individual health care needs and to help them to live the best quality of life.
When she is not caring for patients, she enjoys time with her family on adventurous vacations, cooking, sewing and crafts, home renovation projects, and watching her children grow into wonderful young adults.
