Karen Penrose, MSN, APRN, FNP-BC, is a Dermatology Certified Nurse Practitioner who has lived in South Georgia her entire life. She began her nursing career as an Armstrong College graduate in 1991 with experience in emergency and cardiac nursing. Karen desired to further her education and returned to school, graduating from Georgia Southern with her FNP degree in 1996.
She is ANCC board-certified. She spent eight years in the primary care setting. After seeking a more specialized practice, she began her journey in dermatology with GSCC in 2004, where she spent 20 years providing generalized dermatology care to the residents of Statesboro, GA, and the surrounding areas.
She and her husband, Keith, decided to pursue their dream of living in the North GA mountains, and she joined GSC in December 2024. She has two boys whom she enjoys spending time with. Her hobbies are gardening and reading.
