I cannot thank this nurse practitioner enough. After months of feeling dismissed by other providers, she treated me with genuine kindness, compassion, and respect. She truly listened to my concerns, validated my symptoms, and explained everything clearly without rushing me. She approached my complex case with an open mind and ordered testing no one else had offered. She even arranged for my EMG and nerve conduction study the same day, giving me answers sooner. She also created a thoughtful plan with additional labs, an MRA, an MRV, and, if needed, a lumbar puncture. For the first time in a long time, I left my appointment feeling heard, respected, hopeful, and one step closer to finding answers. She is an exceptional provider, and I am deeply grateful for her care! She restored my confidence in medicine by combining compassion with careful clinical judgment. Actually enjoyed being a patient today! Jamie was very professional but we did find moments of laughter, which is unusual in a physicians office. I’m looking forward to my next appointment!

Jamie Fernandez, MSN, APRN, FNP-C's journey into healthcare began with a focus on preventative wellness. She earned her first Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science from Florida State University, giving her a deep understanding of how lifestyle, movement, and physiology impact long-term health. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and her Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner, graduating with high honors to become board-certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
Before joining Charis Neurology, Jamie spent over 8 years in high-pressure hospital environments, including Cardiac Progressive Care and Obstetrical Emergency Departments. She has managed complex cases ranging from heart transplant recovery to acute emergency triage. This diverse critical care background allows her to see the "big picture" of a patient's health—understanding that neurological symptoms are often connected to the heart, vascular system, and overall body wellness.
Today, Jamie brings that clinical precision to Lake Mary with a softer touch. She believes that true healing happens when patients feel heard.
