Havah holds undergraduate degrees in both psychology and nursing and earned her Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Duke University. During her time at Duke, Havah collaborated with a team of Duke faculty, students, and Tribal members from a reservation located in Montana, in the developments of a summer day program designed to promote suicide resiliency among adolescents. Her doctoral research focused on assessing and improving culture awareness and cultural competency among non native providers and offering evidence-based curriculums for future summer day program activities.
Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, Havah held 8 years of nursing experience in the intensive care unit (ICU) and the operating room (OR). She has worked at some of the nations top hospitals including Boston Childrens Hospital, Duke University Hospital, and the University of Virginia at Charlottesville.
In her personal time, Havah enjoys reading, attending live shows or sporting events, trying new restaurants, and spending time with her family, their doodle “Blue” and Ragdoll “Stu.”
