Elizabeth Rodriguez, FNP, is our bilingual nurse practitioner at the Akron Medical Clinic. She came to work for Woodlawn Health in 2023.
“My favorite thing about Woodlawn is how well-engaged it is within the communities being served while providing accessible healthcare to all community members in rural areas,” Elizabeth stated.
Elizabeth is from the area, graduating from Warsaw High School in 2005. Then, she moved to McAllen, Texas, where she attended South Texas College and received her Licensed Vocational Nurse certification in 2011. Her family moved back to Warsaw, Indiana. Then, she attended Ivy Tech Community College in Fort Wayne, graduating with an Associate of Science in Nursing in May 2014 and becoming a Registered Nurse in June 2014. She obtained a Master of Science in Nursing focused in Health Administration in June 2018 from Western Governs University to become a Family Nurse Practitioner through Purdue Global University in April 2022.
“Family medicine offers me the opportunity to provide continuing care while building trust and a relationship with the entire family across all ages, genders, and diseases. One of the most appealing aspects of family medicine is the breadth and diversity offered within its field, which allows me to treat the entire person from an emotional and physical aspect through all walks of life,” she stated when asked about her favorite part of family medicine.
Elizabeth has four children and a husband who are very active within the sports community. She spends much time at baseball, football, soccer fields, or basketball courts cheering on her family. Although when she does have some spare time, she enjoys crafting, photography, trying new foods, and going to the gym.
