Darsey Fortun, DNP, FNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where she developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care. After gaining clinical experience, she returned to UNCW to further her education and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), expanding her clinical knowledge.

She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of North Carolina Wilmington (UNCW), where she developed a strong foundation in patient-centered care. After gaining clinical experience, she returned to UNCW to further her education and completed her Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP), expanding her clinical knowledge.
Before joining OrthoNC, she worked as a registered nurse on a combined neurology and neurosurgery unit at UNC for nearly seven years. In this role, she cared for patients with complex neurological and postoperative needs, serving as a strong advocate for patients and families while developing the clinical judgment and communication skills essential to her role as a nurse practitioner.
She is board-certified as a Nurse Practitioner through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Outside of work, she enjoys staying active and spending time outdoors. In her free time, she can often be found hiking with her husband and their dog, golfing, and enjoying time with family and friends.
