She graduated from Lowndes High School in 2000 and attended Valdosta State University where she received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2004. She worked as a critical care registered nurse for nearly 10 years at South Georgia Medical Center before obtaining her Master of Science in Nursing with a concentration on Family Nurse Practitioner from Albany State University in 2014. She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
