Amy Lingenfelter (formerly Amy Thompson), is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who sees patients at our Johns Creek location. Amy has been with Atlanta Allergy & Asthma since 2011 and has worked in several of our offices throughout the years, including; Hamilton Mill, Buckhead, and Northlake. Amy is part of the Johns Creek care team that includes Dr. David Tanner and Dr. Linda Guydon.
Amy attended the University of Georgia and then received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the Medical College of Georgia. After becoming a Registered Nurse, she worked in the hospital setting for many years before deciding to return to graduate school. Amy completed her Master of Nursing at Kennesaw State University in 2010. Since that time she has been a Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in allergic diseases and asthma. She is certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.
Amy is a member of the American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology as well as the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She regularly attends continuing education conferences to stay up to date on current research and developments in her specialty.
Amy lives in Cumming, Georgia with her husband and two French Bulldogs. She enjoys cooking, watching UGA Football, boating on Lake Lanier, and spending time with friends and family.

Amy is hands down the best nurse practitioner that I ever had. I literally refer to her as my doctor. She is a “whole health” care professional. When you see here, you know you are in good hands. She gets down to the root and then digs farther. It’s an overwhelming feeling of peacefulness to know that when you are not at your best, someone has the best interest for your health. With healthcare changing constantly, it’s great to know that Amy is still rooted in patient services!

I have a Teleheath appointment with her each year to check my status on immunotherapy injections. It's always good - enjoy touching base with her.

Truly an outstanding and caring clinical provider.
I felt really dismissed and it wasn't a productive visit at all. I left the call feeling like it was a waste of time, and questioning if I should keep going to Atlanta Allergy & Asthma. I wish doctors and nurses were more knowledgeable or supportive of rare conditions. It doesn't make me feel confident when I seemingly know more about my conditions than medical professionals do. I did get a refill on my rescue inhaler, and filled a script for steroids to use at my discretion for sinus issues.
She's very accessible, kind, and easy to talk to. She listens and takes her time. This visit turned out to be more of a sick visit than a follow up well visit. Amy was very thorough and saw that I had the medications I needed and made sure I was taking them correctly. She is very supportive.
