Nursing care at Kearney County Hospital is second to none. The nursing staff at KCHS consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Nurses’ Aides who live up to our motto “Pride in Caring.” With certifications in TNCC (Trauma Nurse Core Course), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), and BLS (Basic Life Support), our staff ensures that patients are well cared for, if not pampered. Our staff is experienced in Medical/Surgical Nursing, Emergency Services, Restorative/Rehabilitative Nursing, and Gerontology, and strive to give each patient the best care possible. Patient nurse ratios are low—often 2:1.
Patient safety is important at Kearney County Health Services. Nurses utilize smart pump technology to administer IV medications, barcode technology to assure proper dosing of the correct medication, and an Electronic Medical Record for timely bedside documentation. Patients are even able to access pieces of their own medical record through the patient portal.
Along with the inpatient renovation, KCHS added a specialty clinic area for patients to comfortably see specialists close to home, as well as updated emergency room bays and a procedure room.

The service we received when we first walked in we were greeted with a warm "Welcome, how may I help you?" The nursing staff explained everything that they were going to being . Dr. Althouse treated us with care and respect. He explained what updates were needing to be done on injections and what needs to be done for the reason of our visit. Thank you to the Kearney County Health Services for your care and concerns.
Awsome staff and doctors
Total experience was awesome!
Very friendly. Did not have to wait very long at all. Very happy with the visit
I went in for a puncture wound and instead of providing any medical care the doctor went strait to questioning me about drugs or if I self harm. She didnt look at the wound they didnt even clean it just kept questioning me. She was rude and I felt like I was being interrogated. I went in there worried I was really hurt and scared. And just got questioned with the same questions like I was lying nobody looked like they had any intention of actually looking at the wound or cleaning it. I really hope I never have to come there again and I hope nobody I know does terrible service
Excellent care provided from the radiology department
