Kearney County Health Services is pleased to provide our community with a recently-renovated hospital. Updated in 2013, the 10-bed inpatient Critical Access Hospital provides spacious rooms for patients to recover from illness. Each of the rooms includes a patient lift for patients who are unable to transfer themselves from bed to the recliner, as well as a sleeping sofa for family members to stay close. Nursing care at Kearney County Hospital is second to none. The nursing staff at KCHS consists of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Nurses’ Aides who live up to our motto “Pride in Caring.” With certifications in TNCC, ACLS , PALS, and BLS.

Our visit with Dr. Cade was phenomenal like always. My poor rating goes towards the lab portion of our visit. We were doing a blood draw for my 12 month old. The nurse fished around in his arm for close to a minute going in and out and all around. I finally stopped her and asked if she could use the ultrasound to find his vessel. She told me no and that I could just wait in the hall while she tried to do it in his other arm. I said absolutely not and took my son and walked right out the door. I'm sorry but that is not professional on her part. It was an optional test, not something medically required, and I now know I should have just said no from the beginning. Being an adult and having several blood draws I know it's not fun and can be painful but to be fishing around like that in an infants arm is unacceptable especially when there are devices that can be used to find the blood vessels.

The walk from the front door clear to the lab and x-ray department is very strenuous.
