I don’t have words to express my gratitude for the gift that Mountain Valley Hospice Care gave to my mother and me. I thought we were going to be alone. But we were never alone. We were surrounded by compassion, love, and kindness. The doctors, nurses, CNAs, and entire staff gave my mom peace that she was unable to find prior to her arrival. There was a palpable team spirit and expertise to make needed adjustments to her care to ensure she did not suffer.
I live in Savannah, and I was welcome to sleep in her room, shower, do my laundry. Importantly, I did not have to leave her. I was granted the sweet mercy of being close to her. My being was tortured and distraught, and once I arrived, I became calm and busied myself bathed in her light. I learned a lot from Joan and Howard Hospice Home. What I learned will never leave me. I will go forth into this world enabled with this magical love they imparted to my mom and me.
