Dr. Kamal Woods, MD

Dr. Kamal Woods, M.D., MBA, FAANS, is a board-certified neurosurgeon and co-founder of Vertrae® in Dayton, Ohio. Renowned for his expertise, Dr. Woods is dedicated to providing personalized care tailored just for you. He earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University School of Medicine, California, where he completed his residency in Neurological Surgery as well. He then finished his fellowship in Minimally Invasive and Complex Spine at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, Los Angeles.

Before co-founding Vertrae®, Dr. Woods worked in academic neurosurgery, teaching medical students and residents. He then served as the Network Medical Director of Neuroscience for a hospital network in the Great Dayton region. Dr. Woods is also a member of multiple professional organizations, including the Ohio State Medical Association and the American Association of Neurological Surgeons.

The vision for Vertrae® began on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in 2015, while Dr. Woods and his wife enjoyed the serenity of Temecula Wine Country. Inspired by the relaxing atmosphere, they sought to create a healthcare experience that emphasizes the emotions and needs of patients.
